When the network goes down, phones pass the messages along.

Wesh is a free emergency communication app. When the mobile network or the Internet is cut off, phones pass messages to each other over Bluetooth, from one to the next.

Natural disaster, cyberattack, war, protests, revolutions, outages, shutdowns: Wesh keeps people nearby in touch. No account, no server, no tracking: simply peer-to-peer with the people around you, your neighbourhood, your village, your city, and why not all of Europe. Thousands of us around the world are already exploring other, autonomous ways to communicate — and it works.

Three steps

  1. Before

Install Wesh and swap QR codes with the people close to you.

  2. During the outage

Open Wesh. The local room brings together everyone in range.

  3. Keep it open

Every phone relays the others' messages.

How it works

No phone number, no email. Your keys are created on your phone and your data stays there, encrypted. Erase all data, in settings, deletes everything after confirmation.

Good to know

The local room is public. Everyone in range can read, keep and relay what you write there.
